Why would they do it? Staffing isn’t an issue, and even if it was they can just go down the road that they started to explore before the hiring spooled down anyway. Make this place the new regional of choice. Hire CFI’s…get them a fresh 320 or 737 type…and let them bail when they want. Some will grow fond enough of the schedule to stay, but most won’t. Either way, they get to pay the cheapest rates possible and still have a steady pipeline of people to fly the jets.
This guy gets it. Around and around it goes.
I say there won't be a contract at G4 before the next legacy cycle because neither union nor management really wants one. The GU/CG/JR posse are as corrupt as AB and are doing what's doing best for themselves and IBT not you. What they want is to keep this company on life support long enough for the senior to retire and keep IBT in power and collecting dues. O'Brien is in Trump's back pocket. Headwinds are blowing strong against organized labor. The company is hemmoraging cash with the hotel in the swamp that shockingly nobody wants to pay $300/night to stay at and Spirit is going TU. All of this means not likely to pry that clam in Maury's back pocket open any time soon.
The last gasp of legacy hiring kicks off in January and will run through maybe May or June. This is your last chance to hop off the carousel. No ragrets here.
Wake up and smell the coffee. Y'all are deep in denial.
