That's still vastly more expensive than what we cost, even if you quadruple our pay.
Increasing pilot (labor) pay to ridiculous labels would instead squeeze out the lower end of the market and cause a big political backlash. That would likely trigger government facilitated startup ULCCs (naturally with no unions to start with).
