How does that work when you might be one of the last flights out on an international departure, a pilot no shows but he had signed in for the trip 12 hours prior and it takes the crew 20-30 min to figure out he's a no show. The guy they call, that is on SC says, "he will be there" but refuses to give a time frame(all the while knowing he is going to drag his feet for 2+ hours because "the PWA"..... and he's sitting 2 gates down, engaged on his phone)
Serious question. Maybe something other than..."Not my problem". Might as well figure out the answer sooner rather than later because it a legit question that the company will want an answer to a some future point.
the serious answer as pointed out above is to use the PWA tool to cover a flight immediately. A short call pilot is not that tool. If you don’t know what step of coverage this is and you’re still huffing about short call pilots taking too long I would suggest cracking the PWA open.
