F9 has 2 needs - gates and more gates. The company could easily stop hiring and absorb the working NK planes and pilots (NK planes have wifi) and immediately start marketing to business travelers. More importantly, they could restructure the network such that it makes more sense and be more profitable.
The debt could be settled at a reduced rate everyone would be happy with. If you're a creditor, would you rather take the chance at bankruptcy court or strike a deal w/ Indigo?
I think you're right but I think that we might be letting Spirit go thru Chapter 11 and then buy them.
If they furlough/ downgrade, sell some planes and restructure some debt first, I think it makes them a much more attractive purchase. And they might even sit back and see how it goes for a while first. See how they are able to shed or restructure debt, maybe redo some contracts, kind of right the ship. And then we still might swoop in.
But I'm just guessing of course.
