I tend to agree. I'm current NK with an offer at F9 and debating resigning before the furlough hits, provided a class date is available. The old rheotoric was to wait so I'd still be on the senority list at NK in case a merger does happen.
Caution! Make sure you give the required notice, and do everything they ask of you (return wings, badge, etc).
There have been folks in the past who burned bridges when leaving an airline, only to have the new airline involved in M&A with the old airline and then get fired off probation when the HR people compared names.
