According to the article, China Southern's been flying them for about 10 years and wants to sell them. -8s are not as popular as -9s from my understanding, but could be a fast way to get BM widebodies at a good price if negotiated well.

It goes against every operating strategy at Alaska. No MAX 7s on order but buy used 787-8s? Haha no.
I know everyone is gagging for some kind of good news in the aircraft delivery department but there is none.

Just filing for permits. Lots of wetlands to deal with but maybe the Feds will become more hands off when it comes to that for the next 4 years. There is hope.
If it happens, we could get to the 10 787s on order by 2030. Right now production is around 4 per month. So if things remain the same, it is very likely we will not see 10 787s by 2030.
