Any aircraft can be converted. The simple fact is the major US airlines do not want to increase capacity above their current plans for 2025 and 2026. They scream about Airbus and Boeing failing to meet their delivery schedules in public but in private they are extremely happy to collect penalty payments and keep capacity constrained. The yield trend this year does not support more aircraft.
