I'll preface by saying this, use your brains and not your emotion when you read and subsequently respond to this comment.

It's time we look in the mirror and ask ourselves what on earth is going on with our pilot group. For almost a year now, we've let an outsider come in and tell us what is best for us. GU has not been an airline pilot in almost a decade and even worse, he has never been a pilot at Allegiant. Yet somehow, this career politician has gaslit 1,400 pilots into thinking he knows best and is deserving of our blind trust. When GU failed us during our time in Local 1224, we all eagerly ran to support the creation of our own Local. Most, if not all of the deficiencies of our current 9 year old CBA can be traced back to GU's ineptness. Now to mitigate repeating his same mistakes, he has appointed a team of negotiators who possess absolutely zero negotiating experience. In addition to this glaring lack of expertise, JR himself has admitted that he's a liar. When asked about principles he campaigned on, his response was to denounce this question as irrelevant due to it simply being "campaign material". GU and his own appointed negotiating counsel's most recent victory? A contract for Atlas through binding arbitration. This is simply unacceptable.

In recent weeks, several critcal questions have been raised:

-An updated CBA Survey: For almost a month, GU and his team have stated that in the next few days a new CBA survey will again be released. Over a week ago, we were told this survey was "in it's beta form" and would be ready in the coming days. Here we are, nearing 2025 with a committee that evidently cannot produce a simple survey while having each member off on full time flight pay loss. Why do we not yet have this survey?

-No New Dates: The last negotiating sessions with the NMB were now over a month ago. In the time since, what has been done by the negotiating committee? Publicly? Seemingly nothing. For the sake of transparency, we should demand to begin seeing a weekly NC agenda proving to us that their use of FPL is justified. This is especially critical on the heels of GU's own critique of AR's use of FPL. (more on that in a moment)

-Flaundering Communications: GU promised improved communications, yet communications have significantly regressed since his presence commenced. As the due paying members of this Local, we should demand a weekly recap from the Trustee outlining the work undertaken throughout the preceeding week to set our local back on the path of self governance. Additionally, we should demand a weekly recap from vital committees such as the negotiating committee, safety committee, and others as deemed necessary. This is particullarly critical when members of the committee are out on flight pay loss.

-Questionable Flight Pay Loss: In this last week's bid package, it was noted that several members of the Negotiating Committee are placed on Flight Pay Loss on Holidays such as Christmas and New Years. It is vital that we members be provided proof that their respective committees are indeed partaking in Union Work on these holidays.

We must remind each other that we control this Local. We are the Due Paying members and even a politician such as GU must respect the wishes of Allegiant Pilots. It is more important now than ever that we shift the focus of finding an enemy from internally to externally.
