So in my journey to understand NC, i've come to the conslusion that the only point to utilizing NC is to potentially get a few extra dollars after they assign you a trip that is not permitted by the PWA. My second crew assist report that was closed, came back with "the departure time was after the first 2 hours so it was not a violation". So if anyone is thinking going NC will keep them from dropping a trip on you inside the first 2 hours, it really is a non-functioning provision as everyone in CS'ing interprets it differently than it's written. Not surprised either, just sayin'.
I’m looking forward to the day when double pay is “a few extra dollars”. If I can make two phone calls valued at a grand or so each, I’ll happily do it.
