Let's say you're number 3 on the list for your bucket with a 0400 RAP and the guy who is number 1, less senior, same RDW, has a 0200 RAP. Number 2 is the same with a 0700 RAP. We're all PASS ALL. Trip pops up at 0800, duties in at 1000 and ends at 1200. If all 3 RAPs cover the duty period of the trip legally, does the system ignore it and only look at the other factors like RDW and seniority or will it factor that one pilot has more/less remaining duty time in case something changes.
I'm asking cause I'm like number 35 for my bucket tomorrow but only a couple guys got my 0400 RAP. Tons got 0200 and 0700 in front of me.
What trips do we have that duty in and out within two hours? That would have to be less than a 30 minute flight to an overnight.
Any way, the LIMFAC for the early reserves is the limited FDP they have so most likely they will give it to the 7 am reserve, at least that has been my experience so far. Even if the 2am guy could technically make it there is less room for error on delays.
With the new reserve system there is almost zero transparency and no accountability. For instance Crew Scheduling can willy nilly cross divisions in the same base and aircraft. If you’re International you can get Domestic whether they have Domestic reserves available or not.
