i will admit that there are a FEW SELDOM occasions that tanker guys have helped us out, but for the most part, they hold up their end of drinking coffee while orbiting in the tanker track while we do all the work.
hey, dont get me wrong, i think the French have done some shaddy things, but we are not talking about that here. We are talking about tankers and, in this case, a very good tanker crew that was flying a KC-135 and doing a great job. Again, like i said, they were the best tanker crew i have ever refueled from.
with regards to WW (winged wheeler), i would suggest you go back and check your facts with regards to drogue only....maybe you could read a book about it while you orbit in the tanker track, practicing your ability to hold altitude within 500 feet.
i have a pic of us on the boom...PM me for it or i will post it in the thread to prove that WW doesnt know what HE is talking about..
Cheers,
By all means, post the photo on the thread.
I am prepared to admit that I am wrong, however, as long as I have flown the KC-135, I have never known the French to do refueling other than with the drogue attached to the boom. I have seen ATO assignments with a drogue equipped US tanker refueling French fighters, but I have never heard of a French tanker refueling a non-probe and drogue receiver.
Since the French don't have any UBR equipped aircraft, they must have fairly liberal policies as far as contact currency for the boom operator.
I've spent more time on this than it deserves. I think that you are a poser and a flamebaiter. Show me where I am wrong
