Because your hypothetical is absurd especially in light of what is going on in Syria and Ukraine and lacked any details or context probably because it is difficult to come up with a scenario that would lead to such an action.

Absolutely, along with the rest of NATO as we made a commitment to do so and it would also offer an opportunity. You obviously don't even understand what the entire purpose of the US military and our alliances are. Our military is forward deployed and we have 11 nuclear powered aircraft carriers for a reason, and it is not coastal defense. And much like Israel did with Iran much of our reaction would be at targets and at a timing of our choice. Many of the consequences of such an attack would have nothing to do with Estonia and those consequences would have been made clear to Russia from day one which is yet another reason Putin wouldn't be so stupid to attack Estonia or any other NATO country.

I would say checkers v chess, but I am not sure you can even play checkers.
There we differ. I would not put the US at risk for Estonia. The juice ain't worth the squeeze. Ditto, Romania, Slovakia, etc. Just as even our current administration hasn't put the US at risk for Ukraine. We can - and have - bled Russia, but we haven't accomplished Zelensky's goals of restoring Ukraine's internationally recognized borders. Nor are we going to - not without US boots on the ground or nukes. And neither the demented old fool that we have in office nor the depraved one we'll have in a month is foolish enough to take that risk.
