I was trying to make the point that ANYONE could do this.
Think of any GA pilot, they just pull the rental car right up to the plane.
This would be an easy thing for anyone to do.

1. They weren't screened properly to include having the van itself checked for contraband i.e weapons, explosives, etc.
2. Seeing as the van itself could be a weapon and even IDed individuals do bad things...they weren't escorted as per regulations.
Just think....how many people in the history of terrorist events on U.S. soil didn't speak up when they saw something strange? Or overlooked a regulation for "the nice gentleman with the smile?"

I'm trying to say that this is a HUGE hole in airport security, there are many smaller airports that are have a large GA community and commercial airlines flying at the same time. Jacksonville and Little Rock for example.
