We just got this tidbit about the United RFP....
The RFP was received on May 9 th and the bid is due on May 21 st .
It is a short-term RFP for 10 Q400s, 10 Dash-8s, 20 50-seat jets, and 20 70-seat jets.
Bids can be for any combination of those aircraft.
Mesa currently operates 10 Dash-8's for United.
Mesa currently operates 20 CRJ-700's for United.
The other 30 aircraft (20 CRJ and 10 Q-400) are to replace the 45 CRJ-200's flying for United.
Net is a slight reduction in the CRJ-200's, and 10 CRJ-200's traded for 10 Q-400's.
Mesa is in Ch.11 by the end of June, out of business by the end of the year.
