Thank you for your advise. I don't want to engulf myself in a dream that won't come true or unattainablea and be able to progress in the occupation.
You have to ask yourself if you really want to fly. If your answer is yes, then you have to start your flight training and find out if you really want to fly. However, you also have to think about your family. Right now the industry is in turmoils and the outlook looks a little bleak. My advice to you is to get a decent paying management job somewhere and fly on weekends and see if you have the knack for it. Get all your ratings on a part time basis instead of spending a large lump sum to one those full time flight schools that charges inexhorbitant amount. FYI, I am also former military and I did it the old fashioned way, one rating at a time part time. It worked out great for me.
