Your binary, black and white, simplistic view of things simply bears little resemblance to the real world. I get how that would be a frustrating manner in which to try to make sense of the world. And sorry, complexity isn't psychobabble just because you're incapable of understanding it. It does explain why you are so completely wrong about so many issues. Good luck with the cognitive dissonance and self-delusion. I would imagine it is painful, but then again, they say ignorance is bliss.
No one said it's a sporting event. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost ON BOTH SIDES. But yes, While everybody here (including me) would really like for the scrappy virtuous underdog to win right now the reality is Ukraine IS LOSING. And there are very real logistic, demographic, and geographic reasons why that is happening. And it's guys who actually believe that somehow a greatly diminished Ukraine is going to win back their territory to their internationally recognized borders that are threatening to create the situation where Ukraine could lose the whole damn shooting match. They are the delusional ones.
As I've said repeatedly, barring US boots on the ground or the use of nukes, the Russians can attrit away Ukraine, precisely because they don't value human lives as much as the Ukrainians do (although the berserker North Koreans can even give the Russians lessons in zealotry).
Now you can say whatever you want about me, continue the psychobabble and insults and contempt, but those facts aren't likely to change.
I don't think Trump is going to go for US troops on the ground in Ukraine- he's talking about pulling 20% of US troops out of Europe - even more if Europe don't subsidize the other 80%. Might that just be a negotiating tactic? Hell, yeah, it's Trump, but I don't think even if he wanted to he could get Congress to buy off on putting US combat troops in Ukraine. And I'm pretty sure even in the totally unlikely event that he did get Congress to buy off on that option, the Russians wouldn't. They are paranoid about NATO troops being in Estonia for cripes sake. You think they are actually going to buy off on US troops in Ukraine? And Zelensky's also insisting on 200,000 European troops. How realistic do you think that is? This mess happened (at least in part) because the NATO nations in Europe (and yeah, Canada too) let their militaries dwindle to the point they were no longer a credible deterrent and by not even responding to the Crimean invasion in any credible way. You truly think they are going to send 200,000 European combat troops to babysit Ukraine? Do you truly think they HAVE 200,000 DEPLOYABLE combat troops? They didn't have 50,000 to stop the genocide in Yugoslavia and they cut back their military spending for thirty years since then. If you believe they will ever deploy that many troops - far less maintain them there - then I think you are the delusional one.
So keep tossing out "cognitive dissonance" and "ignorance is bliss" and other insults, it doesn't actually matter. You've gone from being someone that - though I disagreed with I at least respected to now being demoted to the status of "common scold" like Hub. I no longer respect you enough to be bothered by your opinion of me, be it bad or good.
