If they stop you from going to Precheck, ask for their supervisor so they will look like the fools they are. I have done this many times with a perfect success rate. Hell if you want to tell them you don’t have a barcode, then they have no choice.
I've tried this to, but it doesn't work. Most supervisors backup the front line TSA agents even when they are wrong. Most TSA polices aren't written down anywhere and showing them an email from ALPA means nothing to them. I was told that if I don't use KCM, not only can I not use pre-check, but I need a boarding pass and I would be subject to liquid restrictions.
