Nothing right now triggers some men more than vaccines on one hand or guns on the other. Another plug for keeping your own politics inside your own mind when you're on the job.

Root cause analysis will probably show that these two pilots should have never flown together based on their personalities. But hard to execute in a company with 17,000+ pilots. I feel exactly like another posted earlier: I wouldn't want to fly with either of these guys. Too bad one of them didn't identify it earlier and engage with the duty pilot or Pro/Stans perhaps.

As for me, I'm a lover, not a fighter and don't see the utility of a gun behind a reinforced, locked cockpit door. I get that many disagree with me on that, and the FFDOs I've flown with have been normal from what I can tell. There's no way I'd want the responsibilty of carrying a firearm with me during a 4-day trip. It was painful enough carrying two for a year in Afghanistan.
