And what if they were doing the RNAV to 33 instead? Still has you do the same course as if you were to circle. Airspace is wide open for you to do it and in an event of a missed approach, you're already pointed away from P-56. The River/RNP provides more of a challenge if the winds are strong out of the west pushing you into P-56 if you are not careful. Same with going around on 1 if you get task saturated and forget to turn.
This is in your ignoring traffic statement. It's the traffic in the airspace that led to the accident. Not so much this crew doing a circle to 33.
