If hiring picks up to the point the regional feed has to start parking AC again because the regional FOs don't upgrade because they have insufficient 121 hours, insufficient motivation, or simply want to avoid training failures in the hope that things will get back to legacies hiring regional FOs with no TPIC again, ULCC FOs without TPIC may become a hot commodity. After all, no legacy really wants to cannibalize their own regional feed.
It all depends on the aircraft cockpit seats the legacies have to fill. And right now that's an Airbus/Boeing issue.
Question regarding the hiring at United now. I have 3900 hours TT , 1000 TPIC 121 , 2200 flying the ERJ 175 at the regionals as a Captain and FO and now flying as a FO on the 777 cargo 121 about 160 hours. 0 checkride failures, ALPA volunteer and CFI/II. What are the chances of getting an interview as I’ve heard hiring has changed a lot since the Covid wave. Any guidance and advice is greatly appreciated.
