Kirby NEVER said the airline will ensure to hire 50% women and people of color. It's a favorite misleading statement by many on the right. He said the airline needed 10,000 pilots over the next decade (when he said it). Of that they hope to hire 5,000 through the Aviate program, including the Aviate Academy in AZ. Of those, the goal was to hire 50% women, POC and other underrepresented groups. So for those bad at basic math that's 2,500 or 25% not 5,000.

The idea that as a woman she can look at herself in the mirror and hold the opinion that other women or minorities are not qualified to be where she is is an insult and a disgrace. She alone should know the effort and hardwork she had to put in to overcome the stereotypes about women in aviation and other traditional male fields. I have never occupied the flight deck with any pilot of any gender, race, sexual orientation, etc who I didn't think was fully qualified and capable to do their jobs. It disgusts me the obsession by certain media and segments of our population that seem to ignore all the training and checking required to get to this point. Doesn't matter the profession. When are we going to take a step back and say, maybe just maybe, we are all human and mistakes happen. From the OR to the flight deck to the c-suite, humans make judgement or other errors. Hopefully they get caught and prevented, esp as pilots, but history has proven that to not be the case and I think aviation of today with a vast diversity is much safer than decades past of only straight white men. She doesn't exactly explain that from her high and mighty soap box.
Ask her how much experience she really had when she got hired.
