curious everyone’s opinion on the DoD disability program. For every legacy airline pilot that has been in plane crashes and has metal plates all throughout their body (the people who disability is intended for) there are probably 10 who exaggerated every tweak, bruise and sprain over the course of 20 years and now collect thousands of dollars a month of disability, while collecting free healthcare and a retirement, also while flying with first class medicals and living active lives (skiing, marathons, etc).

curious if DOGE should audit that program and revamp how my tax dollars are spent. More for the guys who had a bunch of surgeries or lost their legs in Iraq, less for retired legacy airline pilots who abused the system by exaggerating every “injury” they had to the flight doc (but amazingly had no effect on their FAA class 1).
