Delta guy here and we're contemplating moving to Charlotte because we like the location, have some family and friends there and theoretically would be an easier commute to JFK from where I am now. I've looked at how many flights a day there are and while it seems nice and plentiful I'm wondering how often I'll be snubbed trying to fly on American metal. I once ran into an American pilot, living in ATL, trying to commute on my flight and he was having terrible luck getting up to NYC from ATL. There seems to be tons of people (mostly FAs) that live in ATL that remain NYC based. Wondering if there's a similar dynamic in Charlotte.

1) Yes I've looked at living up in the Northeast (Bucks county PA, etc.) and while driving to JFK would be nice, there's not much else drawing us there. Housing is expensive, family is far, etc.
2) For reasons you probably don't care about, no I am not looking to live in ATL and swap to being ATL based.

Sidenote: If anyone lives in Baxter Village, Huntersville, or Birkdale Village I'd love to hear your pros and cons.
Sorry I'm not much help with the first reply. Consider posting this question in the JetBlue section. I think they have the most pilots commuting CLT-JFK.

The majority of the American trips start out of LGA on the narrow body and the wide body commuters tend to choose PHL.
