I only have about 1800 hours in the CRJ-700 and it was a long time ago (flew several on their first revenue flights). I remember in the sim the procedure was to reduce thrust at 50 feet and land.

What I found out on the line is if you did that, you will hammer it in. I also remember that the CRJ7 had wing spoilers that in a crosswind could result in a pilot induced roll oscillation. Maybe I just dreamt that up, it’s been a while. Not sure of the differences between the 700/900 other than less performance in the 9 and obvious length.

Can someone provide the braking action reports at the time and max crosswind limit with contaminated surface?

When I watched the video, I immediately thought they hit hard as you can see the tail buckle. I don’t see a flare at all. Looks pretty pancaked to me…but all that will come out as vertical speed and g-force on landing is a recorded parameter.

Im also interested to hear the crew commentary on final. Was there discussion of wind shear? Go around if needed plan of action? Crosswind technique?
