Just doing some research on the two unions and looks like ALPA may not be the fixer.
Here's something you need to understand about ALPA. They have way better national resources availble and are way more operationally organized than IBT but they are an "association of independent MECs". In other words "ALPA National" is just an umbrella group that manages funds, provides resources, and deals in politics. It's not a top down org like IBT. Your actual union is your MEC (local) and not all MECs are created equal. You're going to see a group like Frontier or Spirit with far less resources and far less bite than a group like Delta or United. Even less at the regionals. But that doesn't mean it's bad overall. Like any union it depends on who you elect to run it.

Would G4 do better with ALPA support? Probably. Just because of the greater National resources available to you. It should be pretty obvious to everyone but Tom by now that IBT only really cares about truckers not pilots and just wants your fat paychecks. That's why Airline Division is the joke of the industry with no serious airlines represented and you have the bush league Teamster thug guys running your local right now.

The only thing I'd give IBT props for is Teamcare. That's the best insurance I've ever had. You'll never get a deal like that again trust me. All the legacies are worse. But I digress.

Only you guys can decide what's best but I think IBT has shown you who they really are here in the decade you've been members with little to show for it. If I were you I'd give ALPA a serious look. ALPA negotiations generally last 2-5 years. IBT doesn't seem to have any game plan to get your contract done and let's not forget it was signed in 2016. You've missed a whole contract cycle now as Delta is already gearing up for their next contract and they're the first in the industry to go. Don't miss another cycle as the lowest paid Airbus pilots in the nation.
