"Jan Christian Smuts: A Biography" written by his son of the same name. Probably a bit of a hagiography, but since it was a son writing about his father that's ok.
I'd never heard of the guy before this. Very interesting life. (He interrogated W. Churchill when he was captured during the Boer War) Kicked off a lifelong friendship.
Accomplished all kinds of things. I wouldn't seek the book out, necessarily, but it was a great discovery in a pilot lounge library.
