Not how it works. After TWA/AA there were laws (Bond/McCaskill Act) and ALPA policy implemented that are pretty clear. Look at UA/CAL. The senior pilot group (FDX) gets screwed now. In TWA/AA, the group that was far more junior (AA) held all the cards and esseentially stapled the senior (TWA) group. In an effort to promote a "fair" integration, it now goes roughly by your relative seniority in your current pilot group. I don't know the lists at the ACMI carriers, but I'd bet a 50% pilot at one of those has a DOH far more recent than a 50% pilot at FDX. There is also a computation for career expectations that goes into it, but that's an area where nobody will ever agree and it is a minimal part of the calculation.
UA pilots got slotted in with CAL pilots 10 years their junior. We want no part of this.
