I’m in agreement with Tired Soul. Not everything said was wrong…but when addressing the age 67 and letting the seniors stay on to teach the juniors something I cringed. We have a lot of great new captains that are Lost Decade folk. We have plenty that will step up and mentor (same for us at WN).
As for Tucker, I can’t help but think the general American public just doesn’t understand. I think he jumped the gun to get a whistleblower’s statement without doing a bit of journalism background checking.

There are so few boomers from the lost decade willing to actively mentor the younger generation. Using age 67 is crazy in this circumstance.
Usually, I hear things like “I’m not a check airman.” There are some good pilots that are willing to mentor, but few make the attempt. Instead, they complain about airmanship or generational differences. Ridiculous argument imo.
