Coming from an ALPA carrier I want no part of that again. I was shocked to learn that the APA membership gets to vote for their leaders directly. That didn't happen at my carrier. We voted for our local LEC Reps and then they sat at the table electing the same knucleheads over and over again to our MEC. Trying to vote them or their appointed committes out was a nearly impossible feat. I won't ever sign up again for indiret elections.

I second this. APA isn't perfect but they get a lot right and they certainly do a great job at all the side things like project Wingman, family outreach, etc. My UA buddy this week was floored to see our huge tent with food and drinks, air-conditioning, and front row seats at Sun n Fun meanwhile the only ALPA on the entire airshow was a small 2 man tent promoting HIMS.
I get people are upset about the contract and I see room for improvent too but that is 100% on the negotiators and 0% on the name on the door. Switching to ALPA won't change who's running the show and therefore will not change our outcomes but will come with added costs and much more bureaucracy much less personal touch.
Don't lay attention to these whiny babies that love to complain but have never stepped up and volunteered themselves to try to make things better.
