Think about management’s perspective on this, everything the IBT and GU have done the last year have been exactly what management wanted.

these negotiations have gone perfectly. You couldn’t write a better scenario for management. They keep putting out offers to the pilots showing they are willing to deal but the union refuses and says we are still years away. Can’t talk money til work rules blah blah blah… and the whole time management is getting a huge discount in the short term and the long term because the economy has tanked and is done for the year.

The earliest we might see demand return is the holiday flying at the end of the year. Probably won’t be til summer 2026 imo.

I would be shocked if management doesn’t pull back on rates at the end of the month with the mediator. And worse, the mediator will probably applaud them for it. The union will ask to get released and the mediator will laugh in their face and probably put the union on ice.

At this point, we might as well cancel the negotiations til we have elections and our pilot group elects people to lead us. We need elected Allegiant pilots to make the deal we need and are demanding. Look at the latest survey, it was bashing the union for slowing negotiations. JR even got his feelings hurt because pilots were “transparent” with him. He doesn’t want “transparency”, when the light shines on JR all it reveals is fatigue calls, sick calls and a cheap political campaign slogan. He had the opportunity to unite and lead this group and he squandered it. What a shame.

why am I bashing JR? Because he and GU are the ones pulling the strings and dictating negotiations. Josh is just a cheap empty suit. He has no power and no one on the NC respects him a lick (nice guy, but in WAY over his head).

Jay and Jim just follow JR around hoping he leaves them some scraps. Ask the pointed questions to our reps and the members of the NC and you’ll realize it’s obvious what’s going on. Everybody on the NC is scared to act. Scared of GU and scare JR. Terrified to make a deal that’s not “industry standard” when Allegiant has never been industry standard, we have 24 bases and 1200 pilots - how is that industry standard at all?

Legacy work rules will NEVER work here. MG will burn this place down himself before he allows it. Why does the NC and JR and GU insist on legacy work rules? Because GU wants to prove to O’Brien that he can get a legacy contract at Allegiant to prove his worth. Why does JR want legacy work rules? Who knows. That’s what I honestly cannot figure out. Campaign JR is totally different than chief of staff JR and it sucks.
