A little .gov goes a long way. I wish I had the answer to CFPB "protections" without the bureaucratic bloat. In a perfect world, consumers would be educated and act intelligently without a nanny state directing them. In that same perfect world, companies would behave ethically instead of targeting vulnerable consumers with crappy products. The nation's food supply comes to mind, followed by targeting children with vapes, etc... I could get behind a little CFPB if it were supplemented with consumer education in our school systems. Replace DEI with Consumer Education Initiatives...
the cfpb had 1500 employees… to protect 370m people in a near $30t economy. on what do you base that it was a case of bureaucratic bloat?
