Yeah, I don't disagree. The thing that I always thought would help the ULCCs so much is just the sheer numbers. The vast majority of wealth continues to flow up to fewer and fewer people leaving the masses without big stock and real estate portfolios. Therefore, the vast majority of people are tight on money and very cost conscious. I thought these masses would keep our planes packed.
Yet somehow, ULCCs are still struggling. Not really what I expected. The Incredible success of Walmart and Amazon isn't seemingly a perfect analogy to the Delta vs Frontier business models.
have you been to the local mall, any Applebees, Outback, longhorn, etc lately? See the parking lots and everyone with the latest iPhones? Those “masses” have decided to not invest in the stock market and or real estate and instead spend $$$ on wasteful things like regular $200 restaurant outings. Oh yeah, check out the parking lots. Lots of 70-80 cars as well.
