I understand waiting for a bus and the bus ride takes a little longer. I’ll concede that. But it’s free and the screening benefits are fantastic.
I know there’s *anecdotes* out there about something bad happening to someone. But those are exceptions and could happen other places. I’ve had nothing but great success at CC.
Some of it is bad memories from earlier years. I can remember once when I (stupidly) parked at CC. We got in late at 1a. The bus finally showed up at A concourse. So many pilots and FAs were waiting for it, that even with standing room only, we had to wait--for 20 minutes--for the next one. Guess what? The bus then drove to B concourse...then C...then D...then the north spine of D...then repeated the route backwards! One hour after walking to the bus stop at A, I finally got to my car...at 2am. "Yay Camp Creek?" I think nyet.
I know that they have tried to improve things, with dedicated buses and sheds. That helps. A lot of the issue these days is for the international crews. FAR fewer options than we used to have, and the one and only CC option now adds a lot of time, when after a long flight you just want to get back to your car and drive home. Much of that is driven by the airport itself, unfortunately. It would be nice if DAL at least pretended to be an advocate for the pilots and FAs (to a lesser extent).
