Unless you have a spouse and/or kids back in Chicago, I’d move to Detroit if you like working for Delta. However, you don’t have to move to Detroit or the outlying areas if you just don’t like Detroit. You can always move further out of the city. If small towns are your thing, there’s plenty of those within an hour drive of DTW airport. I have family that lives on a lake house about an hour to the southwest. It’s a really nice area and doesn’t have anything resembling the big city ‘Detroit’ feel to it. Michigan is honestly not a bad place to live, outside of that nasty cesspool of a place they call a city. A lot of Michiganders will tell you, there’s Detroit, and then there’s everywhere else lol.
