Here's basically what happened. A terror group called Al Qaeda based in Afghanistan attacks us. So, we attach Iraq because we think they have weapons of mass destruction? Even though the weapons inspectors from the UN (Hans Blitz) says "There is no evidence that they have WMD!" We....still attack IRAQ, when a terror group IN AFGHANISTAN attacked the UNITED STATES on 9-11.
Technically, Al Qaeda isn't based in Afghanistan. Bin-Laden just happened to move there after being pressured by the Sudanese government to vacate its land. The 9/11 hijackers were from many countries, including Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
The thread that holds the entire organization together is woven in an Islamo-fascist ideology which detests Israel, the West and any government or belief that counters Islam. i.e., their goal is to take their ideology and expand it from the Middle East to the entire world. So it is not just isolated to Afghanistan, but rather it is a regional issue which is situated in the Middle East.

First, I don't put much faith into anything the UN has to say. Second, we did the best we could with the information that we had at the time. Third, not only do I believe that Saddam Hussein possessed WMD's, but he also had more than ample time to move those WMD's. He knew for a very long time that an invasion was imminent. Personally, I believe many of his WMD's were moved to Syria.

Again, we were not attacked by Afghanistan, but rather by an Islamo-fascist terror group whose leader happened to reside (hiding) in Afghanistan. There are two ways to look at this. One is to take your approach, which I obviously do not agree with. The second is to more or less acknowledge that we took a fight that the enemy started and moved it into their backyard instead of ours.
And I do not believe for one second that Saddam Hussein had no ties to Al Qaeda. This is the same person who sent money to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers.
