The other part about excessive disciplinary action is straight up not true. Pilots are getting in trouble for calling out sick upon notification of an assignment while sitting short call reserve. I would hardly call that militant enforcement.
That's a big no-no at any airline.
Not to dig into the reason behind why the company started going after guys but yes, it would seem that due to an increase in pilots abusing their sick time, the company has started to essentially NOI the vast majority of sick calls. Regardless of when the sick call was executed or why. This IS a form of disciplinary action. An increase from the norm. Talk to rep. Unless they are intentionally giving out bad info.
