link was gone before I could see it. However, I have witnessed this phenomenon before and it’s ridiculous.
When I was a captain, I’d make succinct announcements of relevant info only. (and always from the flight deck)
You can be warm and welcoming without unprofessionalism. I always knew that odds were, someone on that flight was on their way to see their dying mom/dad/kid, or was terrified of flying and didn’t want their pilot sounding as if this was a big joke.
