No more “trapped” than you would be by going to any other regional these days. Pretty much any regional in the current environment is going to string you along for a particular mainline carrier.
Aviate regional: Keep United in your pocket and still shoot for AA or DAL.
Eagle Regional: Keep AA in your pocket and still shoot for UAL or DAL.
Endeavor: Keep DAL in your pocket and still shoot for UAL or AA.
