You think United's widebody fleet numbers have decreased the last 3 years? It's up about 7. The only retirement was 1 767-300 and that was due to corrosion issues.
I grabbed the numbers off internet sources. Went to the actual annual reports and you are correct. United actually had a net gain of 10 widebodies. They went from 213 to 223.
