I’m not sure what pilots gain from doing this… only thing you might get on the plane is a bottle of water and/or endless nonsense questions for pax sitting by you. Especially in FC seats… company has sent out numerous ccs and emails over the years for pilots to stop wearing crew badges in civies… they also prefer not DH in uniform in FC unless going to a working flight.
