It doesn’t take much growth for Seattle to require more pilots based on sheer size (over 40% of the current pilot group). The junior FO in Seattle is only 100ish numbers senior to the California bases. If we’re hiring that means we’re growing. All deliveries moving forward are growth.
Hiring driven by attrition caused by the new requirement for all FOs to hold a 1st class medical is the unsubstantiated rumor I’m hearing.
Delivery frequency is increasing which is very welcome. However the number of new 737s does not yet equal the number of retiring 737s. It’s getting close but it’s not growth yet.
