One of the schools I worked at had old retired guys teaching ground schools and doing things like mock orals. That worked well, they weren't in a hurry to get anywhere, much less rush off to their next time building activity, so they were very thorough.

I've noticed these are complete garbage for many, many technical questions. You can get away with something flowery that sounds about right in the humanities space, but it's worse than useless for many technical applications.
