As someone who loves dividends, you can see a quick “sell” at a lower price after the ex date, but in reality, many of the dividend stocks and ETFs rise at a rate that beat many of the indexes. So, unless you
are worried about a very short drop in price, it doesn’t really affect the long term investor.
