Fellow Pilots,

Your MEC would like to update you on the progress of the “Check My Pay” application that many of you have heard is accessible to American pilots. It is a third-party app that works by scraping data from FOS, and comparing your schedule to your pay check automatically. A pilot brought it to his representative, and we met with the developer to discuss its feasibility. Once we determined exactly what we needed to make this a reality, we made the request with Envoy management. We do not have contractual language that allows us the ability to store or pull this data. Envoy brought our request to AA IT, and IT determined that they would not be able to grant the request. Third party applications bring an increase in transaction costs to the company. IT will not provide data for external applications, and they feel that our current Mobile FOS/CCI applications are sufficient.

Although we are disappointed with the result, we will continue to work to bring you improvements. The best way to deal with ensuring that we are properly paid is through our own education. Please consider reaching out to our pay team or consider volunteering to better understand the way we are paid. We will work on a brief document to publish that explains the most frequently asked questions, and we are working on having a pay volunteer do periodic crew room sits.
