Not a fan of them being able to work me into a day off as a line holder. That should be at least 200% pay. But they seem to like to do that. What you describe is a choice, sometimes the RR or their scheduling meltdowns take line holders into day(s) off. The penalty is not high enough for them to do that. I bid a schedule for a reason. I expect to be home on the day I'm supposed to be home. If that means they have to DH me (again) so be it. Lots of this going on lately.
L8 pay for me to deadhead straight home on a day off was about 15 hours if I recall correctly a couple months ago. The L4 pay was about 3 hours. So 18 hours to work for 2 hours on an off day.
