What you describe is a choice, sometimes the RR or their scheduling meltdowns take line holders into day(s) off. The penalty is not high enough for them to do that. I bid a schedule for a reason. I expect to be home on the day I'm supposed to be home. If that means they have to DH me (again) so be it. Lots of this going on lately.
Yeah, this is a required fix for C27 for me too. All schedule changes into a day off are a proffer, for all types of work: regular, reserve, training, etc. (Not withstanding the times it's physically impossible, maintenance cancel on the last flight of the day or something.) And always 200%.
