There is no question that with some moderate seniority and a little know-how, you can work less, sometimes WAY less, on Reserve - especially as a local - and make similar money.

But for anyone new, that’s not always true. I’ve bid a TON of reserve in my time here, and have championed exactly what notEnuf’s argument is. But I would also say that, on average, when I bid a line I’ve worked a little more, but made a lot more. Reserve definitely is more difficult to add pay to your month, unless GS are flowing. Just depends on what your main driver is.
