My question on this was: If it’s “automated”, why does it take (according to their email) up to 7 days to appear? If everything is as automated as they claim, it should be instantaneous. We have computing power that wasn’t even fathomable 10 years ago in the palms of our hands. If it is a priority, how is this hard for them to accomplish? The rules get built into an algorithm, then each rotation has the algorithm applied. It should be very simple if/then logic.

I’m baffled at the feigned importance that management has put on this. My old regional had an antiquated pay model for the pilots. It was confusing and you had to look multiple places to check that your pay was correct (sound familiar?). They announced that they wanted to fix it and make it simpler. Less than 2 years later it was fixed and simpler.

It really is amazing how coming to the “Most Premium Air Line in the US” from a mid-level regional is such a step backwards in terms of IT.
