I’m baffled at the feigned importance that management has put on this. My old regional had an antiquated pay model for the pilots. It was confusing and you had to look multiple places to check that your pay was correct (sound familiar?). They announced that they wanted to fix it and make it simpler. Less than 2 years later it was fixed and simpler.
It really is amazing how coming to the “Most Premium Air Line in the US” from a mid-level regional is such a step backwards in terms of IT.
One person could make the necessary programming changes in a week. Give them a whole month for testing and debugging. It's not hard, the company just doesn't want to do it.
