My favorite landings were the old Tortola, Dominica, St. Vincent, and another short one I can’t remember. Antigua? Anguilla? I dunno anymore.
Virgin Gorda was kind of short, so was (is) St. Barth’s, could tell some stories from that airport, but YouTube has interesting videos from the approach and landings there.
I flew in there with C-402’s and Aztecs, also company instructor checking out new pilots on the arrival and departures.
(I had better nerves back then in the 80’s)
Still easy flying and living on a sailboat and riding a Honda FT 500 to the airport every day was also fun.
Hard work started when I got into jets in 1988, should have stayed in St. Thomas, but no money in fun flying.
Been back to the islands many times with MIA based 757/767s and plenty STT layovers.
Kind of miss the Caribbean for sure, would go back and get another boat, but mama says hell no. (Different wife now,)
